Sen. Shehu Sanni dumps APC for PRP.

The embattled Kaduna central senatorial district, Senator Shehu Sanni has decamped to the Peoples Redemption Party, PRP.

This development was made known by the Special adviser to the senator on Politics and ideology, Mr Suleiman Ahmed.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the aide to the Senator stated “Sen. Shehu Sani has returned to the PRP. PRP represents our socialist revolutionary ideology.

“Sen. Sani is now free from the toxicity and infamy APC existentially represents. We left the APC for the emperors and their lackeys.”

Though he noted that the Senator still has the maximum respect for the President, Muhammadu Buhari, he however stated that “It has become impossible for the senator to continue to co-habit with reactionaries and their perfidious and inimical style of politics.”

The chairman of the peoples Redemption Party in the state  Dr Tom Maiyashi confirmed the development to newsmen stating the senator has been registered with the party and thus given the party membership card.

The embattled senator has been on a running battle with the State governor Mallam Nasir el Rufai who opposed his return to the national assembly in favour of his Special adviser on Political matters, Uba Sani, despite the Senator enjoying the President’s approval as well as the support of the national Working committee which had offered him an automatic ticket. He was subsequently denied the party ticket as his name was not on the list of contestants flying the party’s flag at the forth coming 2019 general election.

Sen. Shehu Sanni swift reaction to the development renounced his membership of the ruling All Progressives Congress through a written letter transmitted to the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole.

It is however unclear if the Senator will be flying the flag of the Peoples Redemption Party in the forthcoming general election.
