The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed a daylight armed robbery incident that occurred on Monday morning, October 27, 2025, along Secretariat Road, Agodi, Ibadan.
According to a statement issued by the Command, the robbery took place around 8:00 a.m. when a bank depositor traveling in a metallic grey Nissan Primera with registration number EPE 901 PS was trailed and attacked by armed men. The assailants reportedly made away with a substantial, yet-to-be-determined sum of cash.
During the confrontation, a police officer attached to the Oyo State Police Command sustained severe injuries while his patrol team attempted to intercept the suspects and prevent further violence in the area. The injured officer is said to be receiving urgent medical treatment at a secure healthcare facility, and no fatalities have been reported.
In the wake of the incident, the police have assured residents that a full-scale investigation is underway to track down the perpetrators. The Command also appealed to members of the public to provide credible information that could assist in apprehending the suspects.
“We urge anyone with timely and verifiable information related to this case to come forward. The Command is committed to ensuring the safety of all residents and will communicate further updates as investigations progress,” the release stated.
