The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State on Friday held a high-powered stakeholders meeting at the party secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, where party leaders reaffirmed unity and declared full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential flag bearer for the 2027 elections.
The enlarged meeting, coordinated by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors under the leadership of Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, brought together top party stakeholders from across the state. Senator Folarin, who was recently appointed by President Tinubu to oversee mobilisation for the Renewed Hope agenda in Oyo State, outlined a comprehensive strategy designed to strengthen party structures ahead of the next general election.
In his address, Senator Folarin emphasised that preparations for 2027 must begin immediately with the rebuilding of the party’s grassroots base across all 33 Local Government Areas, 351 wards, and every polling unit in the state. He urged stakeholders to target at least a 35 percent increase in the votes delivered for President Tinubu compared to the 2023 presidential election, stressing that unity remains critical to achieving that goal.
Folarin, the APC’s 2023 governorship candidate in Oyo State, called on party leaders and loyalists to fully embrace the “One APC, One Tinubu Project,” which he described as the core message that will drive mobilisation efforts in the coming months. He added that Oyo APC must set a new benchmark in organisation, discipline, and teamwork.
In his welcome remarks, Oyo State APC Chairman, Pharmacist Isaac Olayide-Abas, expressed satisfaction with the massive turnout at the meeting, noting that the current atmosphere of peace within the party is not only encouraging but also a positive sign of renewed cohesion. He praised Senator Folarin and the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, for their contributions toward strengthening unity, describing the gathering as a symbolic step toward reconciliation across all party blocs.
Also speaking, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Committee in Oyo State, urged members to formally register under the Renewed Hope platform. He noted that President Tinubu had placed firm responsibility on Senator Folarin to coordinate a unified mobilisation structure that cuts across all parts of the state.
In his remarks, Senator Hamzat Ayoade Adeseun charged party leaders to intensify their efforts, setting an ambitious target of delivering no less than 80 percent of total votes in Oyo State for President Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
