Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has approved new appointments to the boards of three tertiary institutions and the Oyo State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board (Christian Wing).
The appointments were announced in a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi.
Renowned academic, Professor Ayodeji Omole, has been reappointed as the Chairman of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Governing Council. Other members of the council include Mrs. Titilayomi Ahmadu, Mr. Idowu Olukunle Adeosun, Mr. Jelili Bamidele Busari, and Dr. Teslim Adediran. Their tenure begins on April 1, 2025.
In another major appointment, Dr. Adesola Kazeem Adeduntan, the former Chief Executive Officer of First Bank Nigeria, has been named Chairman of the Governing Council of Abiola Ajimobi Technical University, Ibadan. He will work alongside council members Hon. Seyi Joseph Adisa, Prof. Samson Olakunle Ojoawo, Dr. Aminat Adekemi Ahmed, and Prof. Mojeed Kolawole Akinsola. Their appointment takes immediate effect.
Similarly, Professor Kazeem Adekunle Adebiyi has been appointed Chairman of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa, to complete the tenure of the late Professor Abiodun Adebowale Ojo, who passed away last year. His appointment also takes immediate effect.
In a related development, Governor Makinde has appointed nine part-time members to the Oyo State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board (Christian Wing) to work with the Chairman, Bishop David Ademola Moradeyo.
The appointees are: Pastor Biodun Emmanuel Popoola, Pastor Iyiola Olusegun Israel, Rev. Mathew Bolaji Ojo, Rev. Father Vincent Alabi, Mrs. Sarah Olubunmi Amuda, Bishop Ezekiel Adeleke, Rev. Dr. Mathew Olusegun Oludare, Hon. Emmanuel Bayo Akanbi, and Mrs. Femi Odekunle. Their appointment takes immediate effect.
Governor Makinde urged all newly appointed officials to serve with commitment, dedication, and loyalty to the state.
