The Labour Party in Oyo State is mourning the passing of its Women Leader, whose death on December 15, 2024, has left a significant void in the party’s leadership. The State Chairman, Atayese Tunji Sadiq, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing her as a dedicated and energetic individual who was pivotal to the party’s growth.
Speaking in Ibadan on Tuesday, Sadiq reflected on the impact of her passing:
“It’s very unfortunate that we lost our Women Leader two days ago, on the 15th of December. She was a very energetic woman, always everywhere in the interest of the party and working to build it. Her demise is a shock to us, and we still cannot fully evaluate its effect on the party because we are still mourning.”
He also revealed plans to honor her legacy, emphasizing her contributions to the party’s progress:
“She was supposed to host a women’s program last Tuesday, which she had planned before falling ill. It’s a testament to how committed she was to the party.”
Reflecting on her leadership style, Sadiq encouraged members of the party to draw inspiration from her dedication:
“We can learn from her commitment to the party. I would like all executive members of the party to emulate her and remain devoted to their responsibilities.”
The late Women Leader reportedly passed away after a brief illness. Her death has sent shock-waves across the Labour Party, with members grieving the loss of a leader whose passion and dedication were instrumental to its success.
