The Community Development Council (CDC) of Ido Local Government Area has officially set its 2026 agenda following its maiden meeting of the year held on Wednesday, January 15, at the Ido Local Government Multi-Purpose Hall. Under the leadership of the CDC Chairman, Engr. Tunde Salaudeen, the session served as a strategic platform for community leaders to review local development initiatives and strengthen the partnership between the grassroots and the local government administration.
A central highlight of the gathering was the unanimous commendation of the Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo. The council members lauded the Chairman for his consistent commitment to the growth of the CDC and his unwavering support for community-led projects. Engr. Salaudeen emphasized that the Chairman’s administrative style has fostered an environment where community leaders feel empowered to contribute directly to the local government’s success.
Beyond administrative reviews, the meeting featured a high-level security sensitization lecture delivered by Mr. Owolabi Oluwaseyi, an Administrative Officer with the Amotekun Corps. Addressing the stakeholders, Oluwaseyi stressed that security is a collective responsibility, urging residents to move beyond passive observation. He advocated for proactive measures, including being more conscious of their surroundings and maintaining strong, communicative relationships with their neighbors.
The security briefing specifically touched on emerging concerns regarding scavenger-induced challenges in various communities. Community members were urged to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movements to Amotekun operatives or other relevant security agencies. This proactive security focus aligns with the broader state-wide effort to maintain peace and stability as the 2026 administrative year gains momentum.
The meeting saw a robust attendance of key stakeholders, including the Director of Education and Social Services, Mrs. Ganiyat Dasola Durodola, and members of the Ido Information Unit media crew. The presence of senior career officers underscored the importance the local government places on the CDC as a vital link for delivering the dividends of democracy to every ward in the council area.
In his closing remarks, Engr. Salaudeen reiterated his appreciation to Hon. Sheriff Adeojo for providing the necessary resources for the council’s operations. He also praised the dedication of the CDC executives and stakeholders, noting that their active participation in community development initiatives is crucial for the continued progress of Ido Local Government. The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge from the community leaders to support the administration’s efforts in making Ido a model for local governance in Oyo State.
