Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has doubled down on his criticism of the Buhari administration while calling on Nigerian to elect Atiku Abubakar as the next president of the counrey.
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo made this known while receiving a delegation of women led by the wife of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential candidate, Mrs Titi Abubakar at his Ota residence in Abeokuta.
The former President who recently launched a scathing attack on the performance and fitness of President Muhammadu Buhari to continue serving as the country’s president noted that from what he has seen of Atiku’s track record and of what he has seen of the performance of President Buhari, Atiku will perform twice better than Buhari. He described Atiku as a needle with a thread which according to yoruba proverb can never get lost.
Chief Obasanjo who lamented that Nigeria has become more impoverished since the beginning of the Buhari administration further asserted that though his ‘brother and colleague’, Buhari has tried his best, his best is not good enough.
Obasanjo who has since the beginning 2017 been very critical of the Buhari administration, reinforced his criticisms recently calling president Buhari weak in the ‘spirit, soul and body’ and therefore deserve some rest.
In 2014, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo endorsed the candidature of President Muhammadu Buhari over the Peoples Democratic Party incumbent, former President Goodluck Jonathan based on what he described as the latter’s cluelessness.
