A video circulating widely on social media has sparked political tension in Oyo State after the former First Lady of the state and a recently appointed ambassador under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Mrs Florence Ajimobi was heard making strong remarks ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In the video, Mrs Ajimobi openly declared the forthcoming election as a “war” against the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, vowing that the party must be unseated.
“We are going to war in 2027, head-on war with the PDP. The PDP must go,” she said. “Whatever they want to do, whatever tricks they want to try, all powers belong to God. We will beg God, but we are going to fight them. Whatever they have in the state, we have at the federal. They have money in the state; we have money at the federal level. We have all the support we need. We are not going to be intimidated. Let them get ready for us; we are ready for them.”
The comments, delivered in a forceful tone, have drawn widespread reactions online, with supporters and critics interpreting the remarks as an early signal of heightened political rivalry ahead of the 2027 polls.
