Governor Makinde Reshuffles Cabinet in Oyo State

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has established a committee tasked with organizing the coronation ceremony and presentation of staff of office to the newly appointed Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.

The committee, headed by Mr. Ademola Ojo, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, includes key members of the state cabinet and prominent community leaders.

Announcing the formation of the committee, Commissioner for Information Prince Dotun Oyelade highlighted its composition, which includes Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion Mrs. Toyin Balogun, and other dignitaries such as Prince Folaseke Owolabi Olakulehin and Chief Dr. Onikepo Akande.

The committee’s responsibilities encompass planning and coordinating all aspects of the coronation scheduled for July 12th, following Governor Makinde’s approval of Oba Olakulehin’s nomination by the Olubadan-In-Council.

The event aims to formalize Oba Olakulehin’s ascension as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, a position of significant cultural and traditional importance in Yorubaland.

In addition to state officials, the committee comprises respected community figures like His Royal Majesty Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, His Royal Majesty Oba Lateef Gbadamosi Adebimpe, and Chief Hazeem Gbolarumi, Mr Toye Arulogun, Bishop Adeola Moradeyo, CP Sunday Odukoya (Rtd.), Mogaji Abdiljeleel Adanla and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ramota Agberemi-Dabo, demonstrating a collaborative effort between government and local leadership to ensure the success and significance of the coronation ceremony.

As preparations intensify, stakeholders anticipate a ceremonial occasion that will not only honor the rich heritage of Ibadanland but also strengthen community ties and celebrate the cultural legacy embodied by the Olubadan institution.
