Thank you for making my Music House a better edifice- Ayefele tells Gov Ajimobi

Ace Ibadan based musician and philanthropist, Yinka Ayefele (MON) has paid a courtesy visit to the Oyo state governor Sen Abiola Ajimobi over the reconstruction of his building, The Music house located at challenge Ibadan. The music house also houses his radio station Fresh fm.

The gospel artist led an entourage of management staff of his establishment to the governor’s office on Tuesday, to express his appreciation to the governor for his benevolent act and gesture, He said, “I have come here with my management team to say a big `thank you’ to our father (Ajimobi), a good leader and someone who I will boldly describe as a good example to this generation for his large heart.’

while describing Gov Ajimobi as a father, he expressed the fact that he has learnt a lot from the demolishion saga. He thanked the Governor for making the building a more beautiful edifice.

The Governor in his reaction appreciated the ace musician for his ‘Thank You’ visit while admonishing all and sundry to learn from the whole episode.

According to him, as a government, these we have been doing since 2011. We have been promoting peace, security and the rule of law. I am glad at your initiative to come here to express gratitude; even the initiative you took initially to come and discuss with the government when our agency insisted that the rules guiding the urban and physical development must be adhered to. We agreed on damage control because laws had been broken already. It is gratifying that you came and agreed that you would comply with the laws. I must day that you played a major role as a good citizen to ensure that government’s goal and objectives were protected.”

He further cautioned the citizens to be a more cautious in their criticism of government emphasizing that the government is for them and thus will always support them. As such they should also be willing and ready to obey the laws of the land because nobody is above the law”

Earlier, in a social media post, Ayefele stated; The management and staff of Yinka Ayefele Limited is using this medium to thank his Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi for rebuilding the music house.”

It will be recalled that the state government demolished some part of the building in August 2018 on the basis that it contravened some urban planning rules of the state. This development generated a lot of outrage among the citizens as especially on social media. Many see the development as politically motivated with the station seen as overtly critical of the state government in its news reportage.
