A yet-to-be-completed structure belonging to the rapidly expanding fast food brand, Item7go, reportedly collapsed on Sunday evening in the Dugbe area of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
The incident, which occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m., was said to have been triggered by strong winds that swept through the area late in the evening. Fortunately, no lives were lost, contrary to unverified online reports claiming multiple casualties.
In response to the incident, officials from the Oyo State Ministry of Works promptly arrived at the site. The building has been sealed off by the ministry to prevent unauthorized access and further risks to public safety.
The Commissioner for Works also visited the scene to assess the situation and initiate further investigation into the structural failure. The ministry is expected to issue an official statement in the coming days regarding the next course of action.
