A member of the House of Representatives representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency of Oyo State, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, has formally resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a resignation letter dated May 5, 2026, and addressed to the Chairman of the PDP in Ward 11, Ibadan South-West Local Government Area, Olajide cited persistent internal crises within the party as the reason for his decision.
The lawmaker stated that the ongoing instability and unresolved issues within the party had made it increasingly difficult to align with its structure and direction, prompting his exit after extensive consultations with political associates, supporters, and constituents.
Olajide, who currently chairs the House Committee on Information Technology and Cyber Security, noted that his decision was made in good faith and without bitterness, emphasizing his continued commitment to public service and democratic values.
He expressed gratitude to party leaders and members at all levels for their support throughout his political journey since joining the PDP, acknowledging the opportunities the platform provided him.
“I remain profoundly grateful to the leadership and members of the party across all levels for the support, trust and opportunities extended to me over the years,” the letter read.
The federal lawmaker further requested that his resignation be treated with immediate effect and that all official records, including party registers and databases, be updated to reflect his exit.
He also appealed for the removal of his name from all PDP membership records and documentation without delay.
