The Oyo State House of Assembly commemorated a significant milestone on Thursday, 13th June 2024, as it marked the first anniversary since the inauguration of the 10th Assembly.
The special occasion was marked by a plenary sitting attended by Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, Speaker of the House and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, alongside other esteemed guests.

Addressing the gathering, Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin reflected on the accomplishments of the past year, expressing gratitude to all stakeholders for their contributions to the progress of the Assembly.
He commended the unity and dedication of legislators in serving the interests of Oyo State and upholding their pledge to promote good governance.
During the session, Speaker Ogundoyin highlighted the legislative achievements of the past year, including the enactment of sixteen bills into law, with four more bills currently undergoing legislative processes.
Additionally, the House has been active in sponsoring and debating sixty-eight motions, addressing critical issues affecting the state.

The Speaker emphasized the collaborative efforts between the legislature and the executive arm of government, particularly praising the support of Governor Seyi Makinde in advancing the state’s development agenda. He credited the Governor for providing necessary resources and enabling an environment conducive to legislative activities.
In his address, Speaker Ogundoyin reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to serving the people of Oyo State and delivering on their promises of democracy.

He called for continued unity among legislators and reiterated their determination to lead legislative business effectively.
Speaker Ogundoyin expressed optimism for the future, urging all stakeholders to work together towards the continued growth and prosperity of Oyo State and pledged the Assembly’s continued dedication to serving the people of Oyo State and delivering on the promises of democracy.
