In a bid to quell escalating rumors and tensions within the 10th Oyo State House of Assembly, Speaker Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin categorically dismissed speculations about impending suspensions of certain members during a plenary session on Thursday.

Addressing the House, Speaker Ogundoyin emphasized that any such action would only harm the electorate and constituents they are elected to serve.
“I want to assure you all that there are no plans to suspend any member of this Assembly. We are here to prioritize the needs of our constituents above all else,” affirmed the Speaker, highlighting the crucial role of lawmakers in representing the people of Oyo State.
Acknowledging recent discord among members, Speaker Ogundoyin urged unity and condemned the spread of false information which he believes has exacerbated tensions unnecessarily.
He underscored the importance of legislative harmony in fulfilling their duties to the state and its citizens.
“We must avoid divisions and concentrate on our responsibilities. Our focus should be on delivering on our promises to the people of Oyo State,” he urged, urging his colleagues to refrain from promoting falsehoods or undermining the House’s leadership.
Furthermore, Speaker Ogundoyin stressed the need for responsible use of the media to inform and educate constituents, rather than fueling division or disseminating inaccurate information.
“We cannot afford to be distracted from our constitutional duties. Let us work together and rise above personal interests for the greater good of Oyo State,” he asserted.
In closing, the Speaker called for cooperation between the Legislature and other arms of government, cautioning against actions that could sow discord between the State Executive and the Legislature.
“We must be vigilant against external influences seeking to destabilize us. Let’s strive for unity and stability as we strive to build a better Oyo State,” concluded Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, urging lawmakers to maintain decorum and focus on their legislative duties.
