Oyo PDP Criticizes APC, Calls for an End to “Inflicted Pains” by 2027

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a scathing critique of the All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing the ruling party of plunging Nigerians into deep suffering and asserting that citizens are fervently praying for relief by May 2027. This comes in reaction to comments attributed to APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, who allegedly indicated that after APC’s victory in Ondo State, Oyo and Osun States would be the party’s next targets.
In a statement released in Ibadan on Monday, Acting Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Oyo State, Mr. Michael Ogunsina, dismissed Ganduje’s remarks as “wishful thinking” and likened the APC to forest bandits, accusing the party of spreading “devastation, sorrow, and tears.”
Ogunsina’s statement launched a blistering attack on the APC, criticizing its leadership for prioritizing political conquests over addressing the nation’s numerous challenges. He questioned how APC leaders muster the audacity to discuss elections when the national grid continues to experience frequent collapses, exacerbating the country’s economic woes.
“Everyone saw the shame and sham they did in Ondo at the weekend. They will be mistaken if they think every leopard could be clubbed to death as they did in places they captured. Thieves can endure in their perfidy for days, but one day is for the owner to catch them. That day will come soon,” Ogunsina declared.
The PDP also accused the APC of being indifferent to the suffering of Nigerians, alleging that the party is focused solely on amassing power rather than alleviating the hardships caused by its governance.
“It is a shame that instead of easing people’s burden, what preoccupies the mind of the APC and its leadership are the capture of states and the abduction of people’s destinies,” the statement read.
Ogunsina further contrasted APC’s governance with what he described as the “peace, ease, and good governance” currently enjoyed in Oyo State under the PDP-led administration. He insisted that Oyo residents are unwilling to surrender their progress to what he termed “predators.”
The statement concluded with a spiritual undertone, urging Nigerians to continue praying for deliverance from the APC. It also accused the ruling party of “generating darkness and distributing pain,” highlighting the public outcry symbolized by the phrase “O to gee,” which translates to “Enough is Enough.”
“Nigerians are in deep prayers for deliverance from the one-chance bus that the APC has become. Their prayers will be answered by the grace of God,” Ogunsina added.
