Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Outer City Zone of Ibadanland, Oyo State, have commended the Alhaji Olayide Abas-led State Executive Committee for successfully organizing a leadership summit that brought together virtually all factions within the party.
The leadership summit, held last week Tuesday in Ibadan, served as a crucial platform to address the internal challenges that have hindered the party’s unity and growth in recent years. The event focused on identifying lasting solutions to these issues ahead of the next general elections.
In a joint statement signed by the Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Kamorudeen Ajisafe (JP), and the Zonal Secretary, Bashorun Billy Ogundele, the stakeholders praised the state leadership for fostering inclusiveness and dialogue through the summit. They urged the party hierarchy to capitalize on the success of the gathering to strengthen reconciliation efforts among aggrieved members and groups.
“It is crystal clear that the APC is the party to beat in Nigeria today, with positive developments happening across the country. Oyo State cannot afford to lag behind,” the statement read.
“APC has gone through some difficult moments, but with what the leadership of the party achieved last week during the summit, it is obvious that the good old days are back.”
The stakeholders also applauded various critical members working to stabilize the APC in the state, encouraging the state leadership to remain focused on creating an enabling environment where all genuine members can contribute meaningfully to the party’s progress.
“We urge the leadership at the state level to continue providing opportunities for every committed member to play their part in reclaiming the Pacesetter State from the jackboot of the decimated PDP,” the statement added.
Messages of solidarity were received from two serving members of the National Assembly — Senator Yunus Akintunde and Hon. Akin Alabi — who commended the initiative and reaffirmed their commitment to the party’s unity and growth.
Prominent leaders from the zone who attended the quarterly stakeholders’ meeting included Hon. Kunle Jenrade, Alhaji Isiaka Alimi, Hon. Ibrahim Bolomope, Otunba Waheed Olawale, Barrister Yemi Aderibigbe, Professor David Adeyemo, Hon. Abiodun Adigun-Hammed, Alhaji Morufu Lamolo, Hon. Joshua Oyebamiji, Comrade Moshood Erubami, and Hon. Wahab Oladejo.
