Shooting Stars Sports Club, popularly known as the Oluyole Warriors, hosted Kwara United on Sunday, April 12, at the Lekan Salami Sporting Complex in Ibadan, as the 2025/2026 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season approaches its final stretch.
In a closely contested match, the Oluyole Warriors were forced to settle for a goalless draw against relegation-threatened Kwara United, with just four matches remaining in the season.
Both sides maintained largely unchanged line-ups. Shooting Stars lined up with Godgift in goal, while Desmond, Alameen, Justice, and Hazmat formed the defensive line. Amos, Tijani, and Ayobami operated in midfield, with Ismail, Lucky, and Ibrahim leading the attack.
Kwara United, determined to secure at least a point, also fielded a strong squad. Ayeleso stood in goal, supported by defenders Kabiru, Olaniyi, Arinze, and Ibrahim. Akanni, Ozor, and Gabriel anchored the midfield, while Babatunde, Gidado, and Almufua Jr spearheaded the attack.
The visitors dominated the opening 20 minutes of the first half, asserting control early on. However, Shooting Stars gradually regained composure, and both sides went into the break locked at 0–0.
In the second half, the Oluyole Warriors grew into the game, showing greater attacking intent and enjoying more possession. Despite their dominance, they managed only a single shot on target, as Kwara United’s defense held firm to secure a valuable away draw.
Following the result, Shooting Stars remain fifth on the league table with 51 points, still in contention for a top-four finish. Meanwhile, Kwara United’s away point lifts them out of the relegation zone, moving from 18th to 16th position with 40 points.
Shooting Stars will next face El-Kanemi Warriors in an away fixture scheduled for April 19.
