No Political Appointee Will Get Paid Until Workers Are Paid- Seyi Makinde

The Oyo state governor-elect, Engr Seyi Makinde has emphasized his readiness to pay workers salaries as and when due in a bid to enhance workers welfare in the state.
The governor elect stated this on Tuesday while featuring on a current affairs programme on Lagelu fm in Ibadan. This is his first media interview as the governor elect after the March 9 governorship election in the State.
Engr Seyi Makinde emerged the governor elect after defeating his closest challenger Adebayo Adelabu of the All Progressives Congress APC at the keenly contested election
While thanking the people of the state for supporting and voting for him at the polls, he promised to take workers welfare as a priority in his government promising that political appointees in his government will not be paid until workers in the state have been duly paid, stating that “Workers are the kings while the government officials are their servants”.
To this effect, the soft speaking Governor elect pledged that workers in the state will be paid their salaries on the 25th of every month.
Speaking furthermore, Engr Seyi Makinde noted that though there will be office of the first lady in the state, there will be no budgetary allocation and no government funding of the office of the First lady in the state. The office will only be ceremonial.
