Popular Ibadan on-air personality, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, has on Wednesday, has declared his decision to distance himself from Mohbad’s case, after careful consideration.
This announcement was made on a live session on his Instagram page, and the video has since been widespread over various social media platforms.

It should be recalled that popular Nigerian musician, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, professionally known as Mohbad, gave up the ghost on 12 September 2023, in Lagos, at the age of 27.
However, details about his demise still to this day remain sketchy, with a #Justice4MohBad movement becoming rampant on social media. There were protests following his death and subsequent allegations about the events that led to it.
Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, founder and CEO of Agidigbo FM, a radio station in Ibadan, Oyo State, has since been on the case, disclosing many controversial findings and conducting interviews with Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba.
In fact, in September, the OAP publicly criticized the mother of the late singer, accusing her of neglecting her son for over a decade. He suggested that her absence and disconnection from her son’s life may have contributed to the unfortunate incident that led to Mohbad’s death

Oriyomi Hamzat, in the video statement, voiced concerns about the apparent politicization surrounding Mohbad’s case, lamenting the absence of a genuine pursuit of justice. Hamzat declared his withdrawal from involvement in the late singer’s case, citing legal threats arising from an alleged contract his (Mohbad’s) father purportedly signed.
Hamzat expressed that when he talked to Mohbad’s father and asked him about the contract, he seemed confused and unclear in his responses. Hamzat emphasized that Mohbad’s case is complicated, and he originally interviewed the late singer’s father because he himself had suggested it.
Furthermore, Hamzat clarified that he has not engaged with Wunmi, Mohbad’s mother, because she have not approached him like the father did. The broadcaster ended by saying he thinks the issues with Mohbad’s case have become really complicated.
