Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, honored the achievements of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) at the conclusion of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, presenting a half-million naira cheque to defender Gbolagade Adelowo for his standout contributions.
The ceremony took place following 3SC’s decisive 1-0 victory over Sporting Lagos at the Lekan Salami Stadium, clinching a commendable 4th place in the league standings.

Governor Makinde, accompanied by senior government officials, applauded 3SC’s resilience and dedication throughout the season, emphasizing their significant improvement compared to previous years.
In a post-match address, he expressed pride in the team’s performance and highlighted their potential for future success, including aspirations to qualify for continental championships in upcoming seasons.
Despite missing out on a CAF competition spot due to Enyimba’s victory over Plateau United, which dashed 3SC’s hopes, the club under Coach Gbenga Ogunbote accumulated 62 points from their campaign, securing 18 wins, 8 draws, and 12 losses.

Fans at the stadium voiced optimism about 3SC’s prospects, confident that the team will build on their achievements and perform even better in the next NPFL season.
Governor Makinde reaffirmed his commitment to sports development as a catalyst for economic growth, underscoring the importance of continued support for local teams like 3SC.
