Senator Yunus Akintunde, representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, has donated five operational buses to the City Boy Movement in Oyo State, in a move seen as a major boost to grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement was made at the senator’s Ibadan residence during a courtesy visit by the state leadership of the pro-Tinubu group, as part of its ongoing engagement with political stakeholders across Oyo State.
Akintunde, while addressing members of the movement, commended what he described as a “consistent, organised and youth-driven mobilisation,” noting that the group has evolved into a strong political structure connecting young people with leadership.
“In support of your operations, I will be donating five buses. These are essential for coordination, and I am convinced that any investment in this movement is worthwhile,” the senator stated.
He added that he is also a member of the movement and reiterated the group’s broader political objective of sustaining a responsive and people-oriented government.
According to him, ongoing policies of the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu are beginning to yield results, urging members to remain committed despite expected political challenges.
Speaking earlier, the Director of the City Boy Movement in Oyo State, Femi Onireti, disclosed that the organisation has intensified mobilisation efforts across the state, with a target of delivering one million votes for President Tinubu in the 2027 election.
“We are fully prepared. Our mobilisation structure is active across all zones, and our goal is clear — one million votes for the President in Oyo State,” he said.
Also speaking, the State Coordinator, Ahmed Ajibola, revealed that the group currently boasts over 50,000 registered members with established structures across all 351 wards in the state.
He described the network as a strategic asset for deep grassroots penetration ahead of the polls.
Leaders of the movement expressed appreciation to Senator Akintunde for the support, describing him as a key ally in promoting youth participation in politics and strengthening grassroots engagement across Oyo State.
The visit forms part of wider political consultations and alignments as activities gradually build toward the 2027 general elections in Oyo State.
