The Director of Publicity of the City Boy Movement in Oyo State, Gbenga Oyetola, has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu currently faces no visible opposition in the state as political activities gradually begin to build ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Oyetola made the assertion in a statement issued to journalists in Ibadan, where he said the growing acceptance of the President across political divides reflects increasing public confidence in the administration’s policies and leadership.
According to him, the movement has witnessed a surge of interest from individuals and political stakeholders across various parties since its inauguration in Oyo State.
He disclosed that members and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC) have continued to reach out in large numbers to associate with the City Boy Movement.
Oyetola attributed the development to what he described as the tangible achievements of President Tinubu’s administration, particularly in the areas of economic reforms, infrastructure development, security and social intervention programmes.
He said the increasing cross-party interest demonstrates a growing consensus among citizens and political actors who believe in the President’s leadership and long-term vision for the country.
“The overwhelming interest from people across different political affiliations underscores a unifying confidence in the leadership and vision of President Tinubu. This clearly indicates that in Oyo State, the President commands broad-based support that transcends party lines,” he said.
The publicity director further explained that the City Boy Movement was established not only as a political support platform but also as an initiative aimed at encouraging civic engagement, leadership development and constructive participation in governance.
According to him, the group remains committed to mobilising citizens and strengthening democratic participation while ensuring that government policies and programmes are effectively communicated and understood at the grassroots level.
Oyetola expressed optimism that the movement would continue to expand its reach through public engagements, strategic consultations and community-driven initiatives designed to deepen support for the administration.
He added that with the 2027 general elections gradually approaching, the movement would intensify mobilisation efforts across communities in Oyo State.
The initiative, he said, aims to promote unity, encourage informed political participation and strengthen grassroots support for President Tinubu’s anticipated second-term bid.
