2 Dead 9 Injured In Lagos-Ibadan Accident

Mr. Clement Oladele, the Ogun State Sector Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Corps in his discussion with the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday, said that 2 victims died and 9 were injured in an accident on the Lagos-Ibadan express way. The accident according to him occurred at about 8.30 a.m. on Saturday and it involved a truck and six other vehicles along Isara area, Lagos-Ibadan expressway.


He stated that the six vehicles collided with a Buildwell Company Truck stuck at Stairgate Isara area while trying to enter the company. The six vehicles that rammed into the truck according to him had the listed plate numbers: Toyota bus (XR516KG); Toyota bus (KUJ 186 XB); Nissan Truck (KJA 785XN); Toyota car (LSD 435 FK); Kia car (LND 866 BA); and a Leyland Truck (KUJ 345 XB).
The FRSC boss told the News Agency that 35 persons were involved in the accident with two dead and nine others sustaining injuries. He attributed the accident to over speeding. The corpses according to him were already taken to FOS morgue, Ipara Ogun State while the injured were receiving care at the Victory Hospital, Ogere Ogun State.
He urged drivers to adhere to speed limit and cautioned passengers to always be observant of their driver’s speed,highway behavior and to ensure that they report reckless drivers to the FRSC by its toll free number 122 to prevent and minimize accidents on the highways.
