The Son of the Soil Foundation’s Grassroots Development Unit in Omi Adio, Ibadan, has commenced an Under-14 football competition in Omi Adio area of Ido Local Government Ibadan. The competition being hosted by Mr. Moshood Abiodun (aka Stam), is scheduled to conclude this month.
Eight prominent teams from the community and its environs are participating in the competition, namely Labaika FC, Sobia FC, 344 FC, Bako FC, Adekanbi FC, Haranizer FC , Ultimate FC, and Ayodele FC. Experienced coaches have been putting their best to guide their various team through the competition.
According to one of the coaches, the community and organizers are thrilled to launch this competition to encourage and nurture young football talents in Ido Local area and it environs. The coach emphasized that the competition’s primary objective is to provide a platform for young players to develop their skills and potentially pursue a career in football.
The organizers of the football competition have earmarked the cash prizes of N150,000 and N100,000, for the teams with the highest goal scores and second highest goal scores respectively. Additionally, awards and cash prizes will be presented to the best goalkeeper, coach amongst others
The community and organizers are eagerly anticipating the outcome of this competition which promises to be an exciting showcase of young football talents.
