PUBLIC HEALTH HAZARD: An Unidentified Decomposed Corpse Dumped At Olodo Road, Ajorosun LCDA.

The decomposed dead body of unidentified man was dumped along Olodo Road under Ajorosun Local Council Development Area Ibadan, Oyo state.

IbadanCity ANNOUNCER roving reporter gathered from people around the area that the dead body was noticed at the area on Monday morning,it was not there the previous day. The rotten corpse was without head, leg, hands and some organs emanating foul odour with potential health hazard to the residents of the area and passersby.

The Acting Chairman of Ajorosun LCDA, Sikiru Sanda Oyedele told IbadanCity ANNOUNCER that the council has been notified on the incident, and necessary steps have been taken to evacuate the corpse from the Area.

He added that this is not the first time such incident is happening areas under the council, noting that over a month ago, a similar incident happened opposite Vanguard pharmacy, Onibuore junction, and the council responded swiftly to evacuate the body.

He mentioned that such proactive measure will be taken in regard to this incident to prevent environmental pollution in the affected area.

Director of Public Health Science, Mr Adekunle who was present at the exact place where the corpse was dumped, said that the information just got to his office, and he has immediately sent his deputy to Iyana Offa Police Station to obtain police report, so as to support the council lawful evacuation of the body.

A community member, who identified herself as, Mrs. Tiamiyu Agbaloye confirmed that the body is not that of a mad person as popularly perceived but that of a fellow who was used for ritual. Hence, the urgent need for people in authority to look deeper into the incident and go beyond just evacuation but to unravel the circumstances surrounding the corpse, the identity and what really happened.
