The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Sen.) Adewolu Ladoja, has approved the elevation of four High Chiefs in the Balogun chieftaincy line of Ibadanland.
The promotions, announced on Friday, saw the affected chiefs move to higher positions within the traditional succession hierarchy.
Oba Abiodun Azeez Agagugu was elevated from Ashipa Balogun to Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, while Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin moved from Ekerin Balogun to Ashipa Balogun of Ibadanland.
Also promoted is Oloye Agba (Sen.) Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, who moved from Ekarun Balogun to Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland.
Oloye Agba Samuel Adegboyega Adeniran was elevated from Abese Balogun to Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland.
With his elevation to Ekarun Balogun, Adeniran becomes a member of the Olubadan-in-Council, the body of senior traditional chiefs involved in the administration of the Ibadan traditional institution.
The Olubadan congratulated the newly promoted High Chiefs and urged them to continue serving Ibadanland with dedication, loyalty and commitment to its traditions.
The palace said promotions to fill the position of Abese Balogun and other positions below it would be announced later.
The elevations form part of the established progression within the Balogun chieftaincy line, one of the traditional succession lines to the Olubadan stool.
