The South West Zonal Director of the Nigerian Television Authority, Mr Waheed Popoola, has disclosed the readiness of the broadcast station to coordinate live transmission without the use of the Outside Broadcasting truck.
Mr Popoola made this statement while in a meeting with the Director General of the Oyo State Agency for Social Economic Development (OYMASED), Dr Morohunkola Thomas on Tuesday.
Recall that OYMASED is an agency which was established for the inculcation of Oyo State’s core values with an aim to develop its social and economic potentials.
Emphasizing on the importance of the media to disseminate and achieve the agency’s vision, the Zonal Director stated that NTA Ibadan was no longer the station it used to be, as it has been equipped with modern broadcasting tools and has improved on its technological capacity.
According to him, this will help OYMASED to get a wider coverage of more people.
“NTA Ibadan now has state of the art equipment and live transmission can be carried out from the station directly without the use of the OB Van,” he revealed.
Speaking with journalists, Dr. Thomas, who represented the Oyo State Government, said that the meeting was a formal arrangement meant to show the State’s gratitude for the collaborative efforts of the broadcast network which was set “at sensitizing the people of the state for the socio-economic development for which the state is known for.”
He elaborated that the purpose was also to discuss ways of enhancing more productive partnership between NTA Ibadan and OYMASED.
The Director General however underscored the dedication of the government to leveraging data and scientific methods for gathering insights on ethics and morality, further stating that an improved society is a shared benefit for all.
