A member of the House of Representatives representing Ibadan North and Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency, Hon. Adedeji Stanley Dhikrullahi Olajide, popularly known as ODIDI OMO, has declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.
Olajide made his intention known in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha, formally signalling his readiness to join the race on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to the federal lawmaker, the decision followed extensive consultations with political associates, party leaders, stakeholders and constituents across Oyo State.
He explained that many of the stakeholders consulted expressed confidence in his experience in public service and his grassroots connection, noting that such qualities place him in a strong position to contribute to the continued development of the state.
Olajide assured residents that if elected, his administration would consolidate on the achievements of the current government while expanding opportunities for economic growth, social development and inclusive governance across Oyo State.
He commended Governor Seyi Makinde for what he described as laying a solid foundation for the next phase of governance in the state.
According to him, the focus of his proposed administration would include building a sustainable economy, creating opportunities for young people, empowering entrepreneurs and ensuring that development reaches communities across the state.
The lawmaker also appealed to residents of Oyo State for their prayers, support and cooperation as he begins the journey toward the 2027 governorship election.
