Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has mourned the passing of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, describing his death as a monumental loss to the Yoruba nation.
In a condolence message, Makinde said the elder statesman’s life was defined by wisdom, courage and unwavering moral clarity, adding that his influence extended across generations.
The governor described Fasoranti as a towering conscience of the Yoruba nation who devoted decades to guiding political leaders, shaping minds and strengthening institutions.
According to Makinde, Fasoranti provided direction through periods of political turbulence, cultural change and national transformation. He said his passing represented the loss of a guiding light whose contributions went beyond politics to the moral foundations of public service.
The governor extended his condolences to the Fasoranti family, the Akure Kingdom, the government and people of Ondo State, and the entire Yoruba nation.
“The pain of his loss reverberates across Yorubaland,” Makinde said.
