Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, has been cleared to resume hosting Nigeria Premier League fixtures after successfully passing a fresh pitch inspection, paving the way for Shooting Stars’ return to home ground ahead of Matchday 28 of the 2025/26 season.
The venue had been placed under suspension following concerns over the state of its playing surface, forcing the Ibadan-based club to stage home matches at alternative locations. However, a renewed assessment conducted by the Nigeria Premier League confirmed that the pitch now meets the league’s stipulated standards, prompting the reinstatement of hosting rights.
The decision comes as a major boost for Shooting Stars, who have endured the challenges of playing away from familiar surroundings during the ban. With the restriction lifted, the Oluyole Warriors are set to welcome supporters back to Ibadan for a crucial Matchday 28 encounter.
Shooting Stars will host Kano Pillars in what is expected to be a high-stakes clash as the league season enters its decisive phase. Club officials and fans have welcomed the development, expressing confidence that the return to Adamasingba could provide a vital edge in the closing stretch of the campaign.
With the green light secured, focus now turns to Sunday’s fixture, where Shooting Stars will look to harness home support and push for maximum points.
