Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State have intensified efforts to mobilise members and supporters for the party’s ongoing electronic membership registration exercise.
At a meeting held with members of the PDP e-membership registration team in the local government, party stakeholders emphasised the importance of the digital registration initiative in strengthening grassroots participation and internal party organisation.
Those present at the meeting included the PDP Chairman in Lagelu Local Government, Chief Femi Falowo; former Vice Chairman of the local government, Hon. Biodun Badmus; ward chairmen; and representatives from various communities across the council area.
Speaking during the meeting, party leaders described the e-membership registration as more than a routine administrative exercise, noting that it provides an opportunity for members across all age groups to formally identify with the party and actively participate in its activities.
They explained that the digital platform is designed to deepen grassroots engagement, improve membership documentation, and enhance the party’s ability to mobilise supporters across communities.
The leaders stressed that the initiative would ensure that young people, women, and elders within the party structure are properly captured in the membership database, thereby giving them a stronger voice in the party’s affairs and future political direction.
They also urged members and supporters of the party in Lagelu Local Government to take advantage of the official registration channels and complete their e-membership registration without delay.
According to them, strengthening the party’s membership base at the grassroots level remains essential to promoting democratic participation and sustaining political development within the local government, Oyo State, and the country at large.
