Hon.Kehinde Adeyemi Akande, the Executive Chairman Ibadan South West Local Government joined the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) to celebrate the grand finale of its annual Ibadan week festival celebrating all sons and daughters of Ibadan. As part of the celebration, the Council boss extends warm greetings to the Governor of Oyo State, Olubadan of Ibadanland, President CCII, son and daughters of Ibadanland.
“I felicitate with our esteemed Governor, His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde,for his tireless efforts in developing our dear State, I also congratulate the Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the President of CCII Chief Sulaiman Adeniyi Adewole for his leadership in promoting our rich cultural heritage, to the sons and daughters of Ibadan land, I wish you joy, peace, and prosperity on this special day and always,” Hon. Akande said.
The Ibadan South West Chairman noted that The annual Ibadan week celebration organise by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes is a vibrant showcase of Ibadan cultural identity, featuring music, food, dance, and art, which is remarkable in lives of every Ibadan indigene.
Earlier in His keynote address, the Governor of Oyo State Engr Seyi Makinde who was accompanied by His Deputy Chief Bayo Lawal, His darling wife Engr Mrs Tamunonini Olufunke Makinde who was honored at the occasion with the most outstanding wife award congratulated sons and daughters of Ibadan, CCII president Chief Adewole and the entire citizens of Oyo State.
Governor Makinde further noted that, creation of Ibadan State and the upgrade of Alakia Airport to international Airport is in the pipeline and will soon come to reality. He therefore appealed to everyone who will participate in the protest scheduled for August to do it peacefully in order not to turn it to riot.
The Political Head/ Administrator of Ibadan West LCDA who doubles as the Vice Chairman Ibadan South West LG, Hon Adigun Tajudeen Adeniyi in his goodwill message rejoiced with the entire indigenes of Ibadanland and wishes everyone a fun filled celebration.
Furthermore, the Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaja Olatoyosi Amudat Salau who was ably represented by Director of Education and Social Services Mrs Folasade Odekanmi congratulated all Ibadan indigenes both home and abroad, urged them to always be good ambassadors wherever they find themselves and prayed for many more of this celebration on earth.
Hon.Akande then appreciated everyone for their support for this present administration in Oyo State solicited for more to continue to enjoy dividends of democracy at all-time.
