Five people died, while 10 others were rescued alive, after a tanker carrying diesel overturned and rammed into several vehicles near Aduloju Bus Stop on the Ojoo–Iwo Road Expressway in Ibadan.
The crash occurred on Saturday, October 17, 2026, and involved a tanker loaded with 45,000 litres of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly known as diesel.

According to a statement by the Oyo State Fire Service, the agency received a distress call at 11:42 a.m. and immediately deployed firefighters to the scene.
The service said the Abuja-registered tanker, with registration number B14R316XB, overturned and struck a Nissan Micra bearing Oyo registration number AGG669XK, before hitting three other vehicles whose registration numbers had yet to be identified.
Five bodies were recovered and handed over to police officers from the Kajorepo Divisional Headquarters. Ten people were rescued alive, although the statement did not disclose their conditions.

Firefighters sprayed the scene as a precaution against a fire outbreak, given the large quantity of diesel aboard the tanker.
The service said preliminary findings indicated that brake failure may have caused the crash.
Personnel of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), led by its General Manager, Ayoade Adeoye, also participated in the rescue operation, alongside officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), led by DRS S. Boladale of the Moniya Unit Command.
