The management of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late football icon, Festus Adegboye Onigbinde, who passed away on March 9, 2026.
The visit, which took place on Monday, was part of efforts by the club to honour the legacy and contributions of the revered coach to Nigerian football and society at large.
According to a statement shared via the club’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the delegation was led by the Executive Chairman of the club, Taiwo Lekan Salami. Other members of the delegation included the Chief Operating Officer, Bunmi Fadayomi, the Sporting Director, members of the backroom staff, players, as well as chairmen of the supporters’ clubs.
The visit underscored the deep respect and admiration the club holds for the late Onigbinde, who is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most influential football figures.
Speaking during the visit, Salami described the late coach as a man of great integrity who remained committed to accountability throughout his lifetime. He added that Onigbinde’s impact extended beyond the football pitch, noting that his contributions earned him widespread respect across various sectors of society.
The club reaffirmed its appreciation of Onigbinde’s enduring legacy and his role in shaping the growth and development of football in Nigeria.
