The Oyo State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (SOLAN) in the 2019 elections has announced his personal withdrawal from the alliance he had with Engr. Seyi Makinde prior to the Gubernatorial Election. He stated that his decision to quit the alliance was based on Governor Makinde’s non-compliance with the spirit and letters of the terms of the gubernatorial pre-election agreement reached between Governor Makinde and other opposition parties’ governorship candidates. Senator Lanlehin, former Oyo State gubernatorial candidate of the ADC joined forces with other opposition parties’ governorship candidates to back Makinde, thereby ensuring his victory.
Senator Lanlehin however said that his party, ADC is at liberty to maintain the alliance and if the party believes that the alliance should continue. But he, Lanlehin, while still a committed member of the party will adopt a noncommittal attitude in Oyo state Governance.
