BREAKING NEWS: Oyo State Establishes Rule of Law Enforcement Authority

Oyo State Government has established a Rule of Law Enforcement Authority, with the purpose of providing guidance to citizens and residents, and ensuring adherence to the law.

This information was conveyed in an official release from office of the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, dated Wednesday, 13th of December, in Ibadan.

Prince Oyelade further noted that the approval for the establishment of this Authority was granted during the 8th Executive Council Meeting held last week.

As outlined in the release, the agency is committed to swiftly apprehending and holding accountable individuals who violate environmental and social laws.

Additionally, the state government will adopt a resolute stance against activities such as indiscriminate dumping of refuse, obstruction of traffic flow, driving against traffic, neglect of traffic signs, unauthorized occupation of public roads for trading, noise pollution, and other offenses specified by the law. This marks a decisive shift in the government’s approach to enforcing these regulations.

In light of these developments, Prince Oyelade disclosed that the State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has directed the Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation to install billboards throughout the state, serving as a pre-emptive measure to inform citizens and residents about the government’s unwavering zero-tolerance stance.

As a supplementary note, the state government encourages the public to actively cooperate in realizing the objectives of establishing the Rule of Law Authority. It is emphasized that maximum collaboration from citizens is crucial for the successful implementation of this initiative.
