Oyo PDP crisis, Ladoja courts ADC.

-holds meeting with former president Olusegun Obasanjo

There are indications that the leadership crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Oyo state may have reached the breaking point as the foremost leader of the party in the state and former governor, Senator Rashidi Ladoja paid a visit to the residence former President of the Country, Olusegun Obasanjo. This is understood as an apparent bid to finalize his defection to the Obasanjo led political platform, African Democratic Congress, ADC.


The former Oyo State Governor led other party stakeholders including, former secretary to the state government, Chief Michael Koleosho, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu and the deputy speaker of the Oyo state House of Assembly, Hon. Musa Abdulwasi among others on a courtesy visit to Ota in Ogun State
It will be recalled that the Senator representing Oyo south Senatorial district Sen Monsurat Sunmonu was among the members of the National assembly who defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress last week.
This attempt at courting the African democratic Congress, our reporter gathered is unconnected with the leadership tussles rocking the PDP in the state. Sen Ladoja and Engr Seyi Makinde are said to be in disagreement over who controls the party. This development ensued after the former Governor, defected from his flagship Accord Party AP to the Peoples Democratic Party PDP where the state Governorship hopeful Engr Seyi Makinde holds sway.
This leadership tussles has succeeded in creating two factions within the party in the State; those loyal to Senator Rasheed Ladoja and those loyal to Engr Seyi Makinde
Although several attempts have been made in the past by the National leadership of the party as well as other party stakeholder, the issued have remained largely unresolved. The Ahmed Markarfi led caretaker committee under whom Sen. Ladoja defected back to the party last year had assured him of fair and just treatment.
The two factions had earlier held parallel congresses in the state. It however appeared the National Leadership of the party has given recognition to the faction led by Engr Seyi Makinde.
Other prominent political personalities at the meeting with former President Obasanjo were; Alhaji Shafarudeen Alli, Barrister Bayo Lawal, Chief Layiwola Olakojo, Hon Fatai Salam. Members of the Oyo State House of Assembly among whom are; Hon Ganiyu Aiyesoro, Hon Afeez Adeleke, Hon. Luqman Balogun, Hon Fatai Adesina.
