Oyo state resident electoral commissioner, Mr Mutiu Agboke has lamented the high number of uncollected Permanent Voters Card in Oyo state even as the 2019 elections draw near.
The Oyo state INEC head stated this during the inaugural meeting of the Inter Agency Consultative Committee on Election security held in Ibadan.
According to him, out of the 2,934107 registered voters in the state, only 1,958,069 have come up to collect their PVC while a whooping 1million PVCs are left uncollected at the various INEC offices in the state.
He therefore appealed to those who yet to claim their permanent Voters card to avail themselves of the opportunity open before the general elections to collect their PVC so as to be eligible to participate in the forthcoming General election.
He advised those concerned to visit the INEC offices at the local Government where they registered to collect theirs to avoid the unnecessary rush before the polls.
He further expressed the readiness of the Independent national electoral Commission to carry out a free fair and credible conduct of the 2019 elections and appealed to all stakeholders to contribute their quota to successful conduct of the elections. Shading 2 A
