Former 3SC player, Captain and Coach, Taiwo Ogunjobi dies.

The football world was yet again thrown into mourning early Monday morning as the former scribe of the Nigeria football federation and chairman of the Osun state football Association on Monday morning bid the world a farewell.
According to his media aide, Mr Tunde Shamsudeen, Chief Ogunjobi, died on Monday 11th of February at the University College Hospital after a brief illness. He was admitted at the hospital about 3 days before his demise.
Reacting to the development the Nigerian football federation in a statement noted,
“We are sad to announce the shock demise of former Nigeria Int’l, Ex-NFF Gen. Sec., former NFF Executive Committee member, and current chairman, Osun State FA, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi after a brief illness. Our prayers are with his family, relatives and the football family in Nigeria”
Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi was an ex-footballer, a defender of huge repute especially in his days with the IICC shooting Stars now known as the 3SC football club.
He won the African Cup winners Cup in 1976 with the club, thus becoming the first Nigerian team to achieve that success on the continental stage.
He became the secretary general of the then Nigerian Football Association between 2002 and 2005
In 2006, he became the chairman of the NFF Technical Committee under the presidency of Sunny Lulu, till 2010.
In 2018 he attempted to become the president of the NFF but was defeated by Amaju Pinnick.
