CONFUSION: House of Representatives Passes 30,000 Minimum Wage Across Board

The federal House of Representatives has passed the bill increasing the new minimum wage.
The bill which was submitted last week to the National Assembly after consideration by the Council of state was unanimously passed by the lower chamber of the national Assembly.
The House passed the bill after considering the report of its ad hoc committee during plenary. The house resolved to peg the new minimum wage at 30,000 at the state and federal level as agreed upon by the tripartite committee set up by the federal government.
It will be recalled that Last week, the Council of state approved the new minimum wage of 27,000 for states workers, while the amount of 30000 was approved for federal workers.
The bill will now be transmitted to the upper chamber of the National Assembly (Senate) for enactment.
