The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin has assured that all commissioner nominees will undergo due screening to become substantial commissioners.
Hon. Ogundoyin stated this while announcing names of commissioner designates contained in a letter sent by the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
The letter, which was read by the Clerk of the House, Ms. Felicia Oyediran at plenary, has only one female as commissioner designate, Funmilayo Orisadeyi.
Hon. Ogundoyin, while speaking with journalists shortly after the plenary disclosed that, “Our goal is to liberate and develop Oyo State for the poor, common indigenes and residents to enjoy the dividends of good governance, not to play politics and enrich few persons.”
He maintained that all the commissioner nominees will be thoroughly screened to ensure that round pegs are put in the round holes.
“The nominees are still coming for screening soon and we assure the good people of Oyo State that due process will be done to ensure that round pegs put in the round holes,” Hon. Ogundoyin said.
Others on the list include former Members of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Kehinde Ayoola, and Barister Adeniyi Farinto, former council Chairman of Ibadan North West Local Government, Wasiu Olatunbosun and Director General, Seyi Makinde Campaign Organization, Chief Bayo Lawal.
Professor Daudu Shagodoyin, Prof. Oyelowo Oyewo, Dr. Bashir Bello, Bar. Seun Asamu, Bar. Olasunkanmi Olaleye and Hon. Muyiwa Ojekunle and Hon. Adeniyi Adebisi also have their names on the list.
Others are Rahman Abdulraheem, and Akinola Ojo.
The Speaker urged the commissioner nominees to put forward 14 copies of their corporate curriculum vitae to the Office of the Clerk of the House for proper scrutiny.
